Cataloochee Kids After-School Program
When it turns cold, it is tough getting the kids outside to get the exercise they need. Cataloochee offers one of the few outdoor recreational opportunities for young people in western North Carolina in winter. It is a place where local kids can learn new physical and mental skills, get fit, and socialize safely in a controlled environment. This season, we are extending the program to include five sessions because we have found that kids often make a performance-leap after the fourth lesson. We want to help them reach the next level safely.
Five-week course includes a 1.5 hour class lesson, which will be available at 5:00PM or 7:00PM. (Yes, we are starting later than last season so everyone can have a bite to eat before class.) The other change is that you can pick your day that you would like to ski or ride.
High School and Middle School students can select one of the following days, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Once they select the day that they would like to ski or ride they must maintain that day for the 5 weeks.
Elementary students have the same options they can choose from Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and we are also opening it up for Fridays for Elementary students only. Once you select the date you would like to ski or ride you must maintain that particular day for the 5 weeks.
Starting Dates: All Programs ski and snowboard will begin the 2nd week in January starting on Tuesday January 10th and ending the week of February 7th.
Prices for the After School Program:
• Lift, lesson and ski or snowboard rentals - $99
• Season pass holders with their own equipment - $65
Big Kids After-School Program (for parents!)
Your kids are out there on the snow, and you are stuck inside waiting, bored. We have a better idea; how about take a Big Kids class, especially for parents in the After-School Program. Dates of participation are the same.
Prices for parents:
• Lift and lesson - $125
• Lift, lesson and ski or snowboard rental - $175
• Season pass holders with their own equipment - $65
