When it turns cold, it is tough getting the kids outside to get the exercise they need. Cataloochee offers one of the few outdoor recreational opportunities for young people in western North Carolina in winter. It is a place where local kids can learn new physical and mental skills, get fit, and socialize safely in a controlled environment. This season, we are extending the program to include five sessions because we have found that kids often make a performance-leap after the fourth lesson. We want to help them reach the next level safely.
Five-week course includes a 1.5 hour lesson, which will begin 4:30PM Tuesday (Elementary), Thursday (Middle/High School) starts at 5:00PM, and Friday (Elementary) starts at 5:00PM. Helmets are included.
Elementary students can choose between Tuesday and Friday. Thursday is for Middle and High School students. Once you select the date you would like to ski or ride you must maintain that particular day for the 5 weeks.
We will run 5 weeks of skiing or snowboarding, the 2nd session we will swap to the other discipline.Session One:

Students will be placed into groups of similar ability and will meet with the same pro each week, whenever possible. The Cataloochee Ski School is a member school of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI.)
Please note the following program details:
FEES The total cost will be $99 per student for skiing and for snowboarding. These fees include all rental equipment, instruction and lift pass for each of the five-week programs. (This would make a great gift!) Children with their own equipment and pass are welcome to participate in the program for $65.

POSTPONEMENT These programs will be held whenever the ski area is in operation. Programs will take place even if Haywood County Schools are closed for the day.
