Cataloochee Ski Area will operate 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM daily through the last day of the season on Wednesday, March 11th.

We remain committed primarily to providing a quality experience to our guests. On that note, and after much deliberation, we have made the decision to end Cataloochee Ski Area’s 2025-2026 season this week. Our last day will be Wednesday, March 11th. Lifts will spin and terrain will be open from 9:00 AM until 4:30 PM.
We want to thank everyone who joined us for our 65th season; those who helped us break in our new @doppelmayr.usa quad ropeway, everyone who raced, terrain parked, learned and progressed, and even those who came up to visit us as spectators just to get outside. We love each and every one of you so much and hope to see you over the next few days to ring in the season’s end.

Nothing new with this, but we always recommend checking our Snow Report for the most up-to-date information about open lifts and terrain. We’ve had a lot of inquiries regarding a closing date and, as of now, we have none to share (thank goodness). We will send an update over social media and our website as soon as we have an end in site. For now, let’s get outside and hit the slopes… We can’t wait to see you all for blue bird spring riding! 😎

WINTER CONDITIONS UPDATE
Cataloochee Ski Area remains committed to prioritizing the safety of guests and their families. We understand the concern many of you have accompanying the forecasted winter travel conditions for this weekend. We will be open for regularly scheduled hours of operation (8:30 AM - 10:00 PM) but encourage everyone to err on the side of caution and only travel if comfortable, experienced, and prepared with the appropriate gear and/or vehicle.
TEMPERATURES are projected to drop dramatically. Be prepared with a proper base, mid, and outer layer(s). Utilize hand warmers in gloves and boots. Wear face and head coverings. Wiggle fingers, toes, feet etc. to stay warm while in line for the lift and/or riding the lift. Take frequent breaks to warm up indoors. Hand warmers, gaiters, gore-Tex gloves, base layers etc. can all be purchased in our mountain shop, and snow bibs and insulated jackets are available for rent. Preparation checklist linked in our bio.
ROAD CONDITIONS are unpredictable and not widespread. Our Snow Report is updated daily with current travel conditions to be expected on US19 through Maggie Valley and our recommendations for drivetrain and/or interventions for travel. We highly encourage guests to check this update prior to traveling, and use caution in determining whether to travel or not as we can’t give recommendations for your individual location/commute.
